According to the Department for Transport, there has been an increase of 2% in the number of all cycling casualties since 2012.
While the overall number of people killed and seriously injured has come down by 10%, those slightly injured has risen by 3% – this is where first aid can be the difference.
The ‘First Aid for Cyclists’ app aims to give every cyclist the skills to deal with the most common cycling injuries. It is full of first aid advice from SJA's medically trained experts and Cycle Response unit, including tips on how to turn cycling equipment into first aid instruments.
The ‘First Aid for Cyclists’ app is available to download for free from the ITunes app store and Google Play for Android. Follow #SaveaCyclist for live updates from SJA and for more information on the app, training and first aid advice.
