"Choosing the right PPE (and glove specifically) makes employees more productive but it also has psychological benefits," Joe Geng, vice president of Superior Glove Works, a Canadian leader in work glove manufacturing, says.
He relates the case study of an oilfield company that was spending $3 per pair for leather work gloves and replacing them almost daily, amounting to costs between $2,000 - $3, 000 per month. Finally, they swapped out their leather work gloves, for highly engineered anti-impact gloves.
Geng concludes: "There was an immediate change reported in the working life. The health and safety engineering specialist received over 20 suggestion cards from his team in just one month, sharing stories of instances where the gloves saved their hands.
"When it comes to gloves, or any other personal protective equipment, choosing wisely improves productivity, worker wellbeing and overall workplace health and safety."
