GI Energy drills boreholes up to 165 metres deep, often while a building is under construction, and sometimes close to underground hazards such as power cables, high-pressure aquifers or London tube lines.
Working in such challenging conditions makes health and safety paramount and the company’s recent "hazard identification” drive has been a great success.
This encourages on-site employees - all accredited to CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) - to notify GI Energy and the supply chain immediately if a potential hazard is identified. GI Energy also expects any issues raised with contractors during weekly site inspections to be dealt with straightaway. Nearly nine out of 10 (87%) concerns are resolved within a day.
