Howard Tenens, one of the UK’s largest privately owned logistics companies, has been awarded a Gold RoSPA award by the Royal Society of the Prevention of Accidents.
The award was achieved as a result of the progress Howard Tenens has made in respect to improving health and safety across the Group.
Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of awards and events, said: “The RoSPA Awards are the most prestigious in the world of occupational health and safety, and held in high regard around the world, as winning one demonstrates an organisation’s commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record. Achieving the standard required is no mean feat.”
To achieve the award Howard Tenens had to answer a range of questions, supported with detailed evidence of procedures and practices in place across the Group which includes 19 different locations and 157 vehicles covering the UK.
Chris Coulson, national health and safety manager at Tenens, has been working towards attaining the Gold RoSPA standard since joining the company in 2014. He has introduced and implemented a number of initiatives across all depots and continues to do so.
Chris said: “A lot of hard work and effort has been put in over the last 2 years from all our depots to achieve this RoSPA Gold standard. A really pleasing and fantastic result for Tenens.”
