PPE partnership protects workers

By working closely together, PK Safety UK and Smart Solutions have implemented a plan to ensure that the correct PPE is available to one of Smart Solutions key clients irrespective of the site location.  

Smart Solutions provides labour solutions to many of the UK’s leading waste management companies, providing more than 2,500 workers daily to multiple sites across the UK.   

PK Safety UK is a specialist safetywear supplier based in Abercynon, South Wales and delivers hi-vis clothing, branded workwear and safety footwear to multiple recycling clients and sites across the UK.

Smart Solutions require PPE that complies with the necessary health & safety regulations, is comfortable for the worker and provides an identity. Understanding the environment and hazards is vitally important when selecting the appropriate PPE. PK Safety UK and Smart Solutions have worked together to ensure that workers are provided with the best possible protection. Often, PPE is supplied with Smart Solutions branding in the form of a logo, which can be embroidered or heat sealed depending on the garment and the requirement.

Once the correct products have been carefully selected for compliance, comfort and branding, PK Safety UK works with Smart Solutions to ensure that the right products are delivered to the right site at the right time. For Smart Solutions this means PK Safety UK has reserved stockholding of specific selected products, ensuring that the required products can be delivered quickly and efficiently. When there are requirements for special products, sizes and styles not held in stock, PK Safety UK have set up bespoke service delivery plans to guarantee a timely service to the correct sites across the UK.

Hi-vis workwear is one of the most common items of PPE used by Smart Solutions and includes jackets, polo shirts and trousers. Other PPE includes safety footwear, ear protection, safety gloves, respiratory protective equipment and safety glasses.
