The Brymore Group property company had roof problems at a Surrey office block. Workers needed roof access to service the air conditioning units, and window cleaners needed to access the ManSafe clips for their harnesses.
Over time, the roof panels and box gutters became damaged and the protective paint eroded.
The contractor, Montagu Waterproofing, recommended FibreGrid’s GRP Walkway System, which is high performance and low maintenance.
Glass reinforced plastic grating is suitable for roofs: it’s tough, yet lightweight (unlike steel or aluminium); won’t rust and is anti-slip; is fire retardant, chemical resistant and non-sparking.
From the 40 types of grating FibreGrid produce, the client chose 38mm holes with Buzon feet to raise the grating above the gullys so water could flow under the grating, and operatives could safely walk on the grating without touching the roof. 25mm grating was used for the "up and overs".
