Rock Fall (UK) has launched a new chainsaw safety boot suitable for industries ranging from forestry to rail.
In forestry and arboriculture working environments alone, risks include lacerations, cuts from chainsaws, treading on sharp objects, slips and falls.
The Rock Fall Chatsworth RF328 chainsaw safety boot is designed with these hazards in mind and is also suitable for rail and construction working environments. The boot comprises layers of Kevlar, providing midsole protection with flexibility for climbing and has the highest classification protection (S3) from chainsaws with a steel toe cap. A full-grain leather upper is constructed using multiple layers of Kevlar fabric. Rock Fall Chatsworth exceeds safety standards EN ISO 17249:2013 and EN ISO 20345:2011.
Under foot protection is provided by a flexible Kevlar midsole and a Vibram sole provides high SRC slip resistance (as per EN 20345 safety standards). The flame-resistant boots also include an anti-fatigue PU in-sock made from the same material as anti-fatigue matting.
With a Sympatex membrane and a moisture-wicking shock absorbing foot-bed, the boot is said to be as lightweight and comfortable as a Class 2 chainsaw boot, while delivering Class 3 protection.
