Take lone worker protection to the next level

Reliance Protect, the leading provider of lone worker solutions, has announced the availability of ID Ultra, the company’s latest cutting edge personal safety device.

EDIT-NO

ID Ultra builds on the enormous success of Reliance Protect’s previous generations of ID badge devices and boasts a number of unique features that will help maintain the safety of individuals who are at risk of aggression or hazards in their working environments.

Chris Allcard, Reliance Protect’s lone worker services director, commented, ‘We have a real commitment to continual improvement across all areas of our business. So, even though our previous generations of ID badge devices have become one of the most popular lone worker personal safety devices in the UK – we have deployed upwards of 100,000 units – we have taken the opportunity to improve it further. In order to make it as useful as possible, we embarked on an extensive consultation process with selected existing customers in order to make sure that all of ID Ultra’s exciting new features offer genuine benefits out in the field.’

ID Ultra boasts an industry first with its dual location positioning technologies. Utilising both GPS and Wi-Fi – the former to identify a user’s location when they are outside, and the latter when they are indoors – users can be swiftly located, wherever they are. It also utilises Bluetooth technology to facilitate integration with other devices, such as wearables and medical devices - and Bluetooth Low Energy beacons for granular level locating inside buildings - a level of future proofing that will enable it to take full advantage of future technologies.

Like its predecessors, ID Ultra is styled as a traditional yet discreet ID cardholder that has easy to access buttons and simple status LED lights. Reliable and robust, it is now dust and water resistant to IP67 – something that is an important feature for those working outside and/or in harsh environments. There’s no need with ID Ultra to purchase separate covers to try and protect the device from the elements. To achieve IP67, ID Ultra incorporates a silicone sealed case and a waterproof micro-USB charger socket, speaker and microphone. It has also been designed to be lightweight and comfortable to wear, and users can choose either a lanyard or a lapel clip.

During the consultation process users stated that battery life is an important day to day factor. By leveraging advanced power management software and the latest electronic components, ID Ultra has a battery life around twice that of the previous device, typically lasting around four days, making the device highly practical for a wide variety of working environments. Moreover a full charge can be achieved in just two hours via an easy to use charging dock.

‘Reliance Protect has been protecting lone workers and safeguarding organisations since 2006, making us one of the most established and trusted solution providers in the UK,’ concluded Chris Allcard. ‘ID Ultra is a genuine game-changer in the world of lone worker safety, offering greater protection, increased usability, and future proofing - at the same price point as our former ID badge device. Those already familiar with our ID devices will find migration to ID Ultra incredibly straightforward and, to complement it, we also offer expertise in all aspects of lone working policies, procedures and training. ID Ultra complies with BS 8484 as part of our wider BS 8484 accreditation to enable escalation of alarms where applicable to a Level 1 police response, via our in-house state-of-the-art BS 5979 Category II alarm receiving centre. All delivered within our ISO 27001 Information Security Management accreditation.’
